In September 2016 the Council began an inquiry into ethical issues raised by genome editing as an emerging biomedical technology that could influence inherited characteristics in human beings. We will publish a report making recommendations for policy and practice on 17 July 2018.
We are holding a conference on 23 July 2018 in London to explore some of the themes and findings of the inquiry. You can register your interest for the event by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
