Together with Apples and Snakes, we held the (un)natural poetry competition in 2015. This competition challenged poets to explore, delve into and reveal the meaning of the words natural, unnatural, nature and similar words in the context of debates about science, technology and medicine.
Listen to Steering Group members Tom Shakespeare, Roland Jackson, and Mona Siddiqui talk about the project, and why we looked to poets to help us explore ideas about naturalness.
The results are as follows:
Winner:
Sophie Fenella - Aubergines in Acton
Runner up:
Laila Sumpton - Sharing Bodies
Runner up:
Jessica Harneyford - Walking in the Park on a Saturday Afternoon
