The mind & brain

We are considering developments in this area and how they intersect with social and policy contexts. The pace of research is generating new ethical questions around privacy, agency, autonomy and identity, which require exploration and deliberation.

Why we are prioritising this area

We have identified a need for ethical guidance to address patient safety, data security and responsible innovation in relation to research and treatments involving the brain. We will provide targeted and timely advice in response to live policy questions in the UK context.
