We are currently advertising for a new Director, following the announcement that our current Director, Hugh Whittall, will be retiring in the spring after leading the Council for 13 years.
The Director will lead a team of 12 in supporting the work of the Council. Candidates must have a track record of successful strategic leadership and team management as well as strong operational skills. An understanding of current debates in bioethics and related issues in science policy and public perception of science is essential, as is an understanding of the interface between research and public policy and practitioners.
The role requires outstanding communications skills and the ability to manage complex stakeholders so candidates will need to bring a collaborative approach and experience of building partnerships. This represents the opportunity to lead an organisation which is tackling some of the most difficult issues in bioethics and has significant impact both nationally and internationally.
Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to the Nuffield Council on Bioethics on this appointment. For more information, please visit their job vacancy page.
The application deadline is noon on Friday 30 October 2020.
