We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of James Partridge OBE, founder of Changing Faces and campaigner for facial equality.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of James Partridge OBE, founder of Changing Faces and campaigner for facial equality.

James was a member of our working group for our in-depth inquiry into the ethical issues around cosmetic procedures. He was an inspirational, generous, and thoroughly lovely working group member. It was a privilege to work with him.

In 1992, James founded ‘Changing Faces’, which took its name from ‘the book he wished he could have had to help him through his own recovery’. Changing Faces is the UK’s leading charity supporting people with facial disfigurements. The charity provides specialist support for individuals and their families, and has led the way in campaigning for face equality, the fair and equal treatment for all irrespective of appearance.

You can read more about James, his legacy, and his work here. A tribute site has also been set up.
