Sophie Fenella Aubergines in Acton

Runner up:

Laila Sumpton Sharing Bodies

Runner up:

Jessica Harneyford Walking in the Park on a Saturday Afternoon

This competition challenged poets to explore, delve into and reveal the meaning of the words natural, unnatural, nature and similar words in the context of debates about science, technology and medicine. Read the Council’s press release about the competition.

Listen to Steering Group members Tom Shakespeare, Roland Jackson, and Mona Siddiqui talk about the project, and why we looked to poets to help us explore ideas about naturalness.
