We are currently seeking individuals to support the forward planning work of the Council by preparing background papers on potential future topics. The papers will provide background material for the Council’s Forward Look Seminar in May 2011 where a number of issues are discussed in detail to see whether they should be taken forward as future topics.

The positions would suit individuals with experience in relevant topics and would involve providing a review of the state of the field in each of the following:

1. Genomics, health records, database linkage and privacy


2. Pandemics


3. Hyper-expensive new therapies and the prioritisation of research and development


4. Gene / germline therapies
