Broadening bioethics: clinical ethics, public health and global health
Baroness Onora O’Neill gave the Council's Annual Lecture at the Royal Society of Arts on Thursday 19th May 2011.

The lecture, part of the Council’s programme of 20th Anniversary events, was attended by around 150 people with a professional or personal interest in bioethics.
The lecture proved enormously popular with the near-capacity audience and it was followed by an enthusiastic discussion which continued during a drinks reception hosted by the Council afterwards.
Baroness O’Neill was a founder member of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics, which she later chaired. She writes on ethics and political philosophy, with particular interests in international justice, the philosophy of Immanuel Kant, questions of bioethics, and conceptions of accountability and trust. She sits in the House of Lords as a crossbench peer (Baroness O’Neill of Bengarve), is a former President of the British Academy and teaches philosophy in Cambridge.
